Frage zu 16 gal. Bezintank

Hallo zusammen



Laut NPD-Katalog ist ein 16 gal. Tank für die Modelle 65-68 eingebaut ,

ist es möglich jedoch einen 20 gal Tank einzubauen , ohne große

Veränderungen am Blech durchführen zu müssen ??

Gib mal die Abmessung Aussenkante zu Aussenkante. Breite / Länge.



Ich selber habe bei meinem 69er dann sogar den 22gal. Tank des 70er eingebaut. Wenn Du Glück hast wäre sogar das noch möglich.

Sollte passen von den Abmessungen her. Ich habe mal in Internet gesucht und was gefunden bei http://forums.mustangmonthly.com/70/637 ... index.html :

"The 16 and 20 gal. tanks are interchangable. The biggest difference is the filler hole in the 20 gallon tank. This hole sits rearward and is angled to the rear more than the 16 gal. tank. To correct this, I GENTLY placed a large pick handle in the hole and bent it toward the front of the tank. This changed the angle to vertical. I then removed the old filler pipe , and by " eyeballing it " cut at an angle as to help it intersect the vertical line of the tank hole. Reattaching the filler tube , made needed adjustments to the cuts. I then went to a rubber company and purchased a one foot length of flexable wall 2 1/4 inside diam. fuel hose. I cut a 6" length, and removed a half moon section from the top that fits on the back of the filler tube. Cut out about 1 1/2 to 2 " so the rubber will not bind so much. Remove the filler tube ,slide the rubber hose over the the tube and reinstall and secure to the rear facia of the car. NOTE: Make sure the clamps are installed around the rubber hose once it is passed through the rear housing. Now slide the rubber hose onto the tank. This will take a little work. Once on, secure the clamps. IF there is a bit of rubber hose sticking up on the top of the filler tube, trim to your liking. All sending unit connections are exactly like the 16 gal. tank. "



Das heißt in Kurzform in unserer Sprache: Die Abmessungen sind identisch. Der Einfüllstutzen am Tank sitzt etwas weiter hinten und ist anders geneigt. Den Stutzen vorsichtig in die Vertikale drücken.

Dann das Einfüllrohr etwas kürzen und so modifizieren, dass es mit dem Stutzen am Tank in etwa in Flucht ist. Neuen weichen Gummischlauch (benzinfest)zur Verbindung verwenden.

Die Anschlüsse für die Benzinanzeige sind gleich.



Übrigens: der größere Tank ragt etwas mehr in den Kofferraum hinein.

Dankeschön , das sind ja gute Nachrichten , werde mich für den

20 gal. Tant entscheiden .



Ich glaube eine gal. = 3,785 ltr. X 20 gal.=75,70 Ltr. das dürfte für meine

3,3 ltr. Rakete ausreichen , da komm ich ja fast von Freising bis nach

Oldenburg , den Rest bis zur Nordsee wird geschoben .

Nicht vergessen: Unbedingt auch den zum Tank passenden Geber verbauen, sonst zeigt die Tankanzeige falsch an.
